While researching for an article I wrote last month I surprised myself that we, including my daughter (who is only 6), are not getting enough exercise!! You think that incidental exercise, playing chasings and skipping in the playground, would be enough 'fun exercise' for the kids - but it is far from the truth. To read the full article go to http://www.laughandplayoutdoors.com.au/page/why-send
Then come back and discuss how - as busy parents, usually working as well - we fit in all this extra exercise - not forgetting about ourselves!!
Hear from you soon!!

I think it is all about prioritizing time, what is important for each family member, and then working out a schedule that doesn't commit every waking hour to running from one sport to another. There has to be family time and down time scheduled too. i remember speaking to a dad who had twins, and they alternated the sports for each child each term, because they were interested in different things. So one term one child did one sport while the whole family supported her, and the next term the other child did her sport while the whole family supported her. I thought that was very wise and helped keep the family connected.
