"Awareness Cambodia Inc is an Australian not for profit, overseas humanitarian organisation working to relieve poverty and encourage development of life skills through participation in self sustaining projects. It was established in 1996 by Perth dentist, Dr Gary Hewett in response to the incredible suffering and poverty experienced by the Cambodian people after the execution of 25% of its population under Khmer Rouge leader Pol Pot.

Awareness Cambodia has been life giving to children and families since 1996, providing food, shelter, education and hope to a people who had nothing. They now can say they have affected generations to come with an opportunity to live a life that could never have been possible. But there is so much more to do and I feel so excited that we have an opportunity, as individuals living in this rich nation, to support families born into a nation that has been torn apart.

We ask that when you browse through our website, LaughAndPlayOutdoors.com.au, that you do it purposefully knowing that 8% of profits from whatever you purchase will be going to help support Awareness Cambodia. It will cost you nothing extra - and we thank you in advance for your help in bringing light to someone who has only ever known darkness.

In December 2009 we were very excited to be able to send Awareness Cambodia a cheque for $100.00 to support the amazing work they do in Cambodia.

Awareness Cambodia are building a Graduation House in Phnom Penh which is their tertiary level residential college. It will be a safe and secure home for their students while they are studying or learning other new skills.

  Awareness Cambodia's design and dream is to empower and educate Cambodian children so they can contribute back to Cambodia's development through their own effort and expertise. The Graduation House is a significant final   piece of this dream and our second cheque of $200, that many of you have contributed to, will be going towards this building.
