"Awareness Cambodia Inc is an
Australian not for profit, overseas humanitarian organisation working
to relieve poverty and encourage development of life skills through
participation in self sustaining projects. It was established in 1996
by Perth dentist, Dr Gary Hewett in response to the incredible
suffering and poverty experienced by the Cambodian people after the
execution of 25% of its population under Khmer Rouge leader Pol Pot.
If there's one thing we've learnt, it's that ordinary people like us
can make a difference. I invite and look forward to your joining in our
mission; building a better, brighter future for Cambodia." Dr. Gary Hewett
Awareness Cambodia has been life giving to children and families since 1996, providing food, shelter, education and hope to a people who had nothing. They now can say they have affected generations to come with an opportunity to live a life that could never have been possible. But there is so much more to do and I feel so excited that we have an opportunity, as individuals living in this rich nation, to support families born into a nation that has been torn apart.
Please read their web site for a fuller appreciation of the sacrifice they have made to give others a richer life - I guarantee you will be truely touched - AwareCam
We ask that when you browse through our website, LaughAndPlayOutdoors.com.au, that you do it purposefully knowing that 8% of profits from whatever you purchase will be going to help support Awareness Cambodia. It will cost you nothing extra - and we thank you in advance for your help in bringing light to someone who has only ever known darkness.
The 8% donation will be made on a quarterly basis at this stage, but it is my desire to be making monthly donations by the end of the year. If you sign up for email newsletters or RSS feed from this site or my blog, you will be kept informed on how your donation helped in the big picture.
Every little bit counts and helps, so please be encouraged that together we can and will make a difference.
Thank you for your time.
